Target 21 Blackjack And Casino Comps

"With a two or three unit stop loss how does that affect the ability toget comps?   I would think that most times you would not even finish one shoebefore you would get up and leave the table?"

I do appreciate your question and am happy to provide a response. Casino Comps are very subjective; it becomes more of a personal matter than a hard and fast rule on how to work them to your advantage.

Comps have different ranges of value and requirements to earn, plus they vary at different casinos comps vary from a free meal ticket, maybe limited to $15 to $25, maybe even unlimited to one their gourmet restaurants, perhaps a free nights stay at their hotel, or free tickets to a show, all the way up to free air fare and limo service.

Many casinos expect 3 to 4 hours play with minimum average bets of at least $25 in order to qualify for any level of comps.   Some casinos will be OK if your bet size is sometimes only $5 or $10 as long as they see you play larger amounts that will bring your overall average play dollars up to what ever their requirements are to receive a comp.   Sometimes you have to be persistent to get any comps at all, sometimes they are offered without even asking.   It's a very individual matter that varies so much between casinos and between different pit crews within the same casino.   However, they generally have very good monitoring methods of your true play, much better than the average person realizes.   Not only is the pit monitoring your play, the "eye-in-the-sky" also is monitoring you.

There are players who are much more interested in getting comps than in their money management and determining the true cost of the comps.   Then there are those who thrive on the "Royal VIP treatment" who do not seem to care what it cost in table losses as long as they get the extra Treatment.   It makes them feel so special.   So, you see, it's a very personal thing that not a one size fits all solution.

Here is a general but prudent guideline a few of us go by regarding comps.   We have a predetermined money management plan in place.   We have an amount we establish for our total trip session play.   That could range from $500 per day, maybe even $1,000 per day, or higher.   Then we have a table session BY-IN amount, and within our BY-IN, we have an established play amount limit.

    Example:

Lets say we may buy in for $300, but we have a limit of any where from $60 (20%), to $100 (33%) to $150 (50%) that is our maximum table loss that triggers table departure.   Why does the range vary?   Here are some factors that may affect your stop loss amount or percent of buy-in. You may have experienced some prior session losses, your total bankroll is shrinking, and you play ultra conservative only 20% of buy-in loss to protect your bankroll.   You may have experienced some good wins and now your up and willing to risk 50% or maybe more of your total buy-in.   These are some judgmental factors that affect your game and your betting strategies.

As for the Comp part of our play strategy, we have pre-determined the value of any and all comps we might receive over the course of our stay, be it one day, three days, whatever.   We will not chase these comps by losing more of our bankroll than they are truly worth in real money.   We know we have to eat, and we have a hotel bill.   We know what that would reasonably cost out of pocket.   Keep in mind; we place no value on the "suck-up" treatment. This criteria becomes one or our primary money management play strategies.   This becomes a highly disciplined method of casino play. The use of objectivity pays dividends.   Subjectivity usually results in no money management at all; anything goes including your money.   That's not the way I play.

The above highly disciplined method used to consider comps does not fit all players.   We don't preach a lot about comps, we merely give some guidelines to consider.   Each individual will deal with comps to suit their own personal desires.

Having provided the above discussion on comps, now let's address your very good question about the three (3) unit stop loss that might take you out of a bad game or shoe.   Using Target 21 key factors you have already scouted the tables to find a game that meets the criteria, otherwise you're not in that game to begin with.   Most every casino has many blackjack tables in play.   We know the "average" blackjack players uses two (2) decisions to enter a game.   ONE, is there a seat available. TWO, do they like what the dealer "looks" like or sounds like.   That's it, that's the extent of their table selection.   Why, because "they" don't have the knowledge YOU now have (using Target 21 "table selection scouting factors"), to make a "wise" table selection.

Therefore, you should be playing at far more tables that have the potential to be winning tables than those that are loosing tables.   You may decide however, you will increase your stop loss table departure to 4 or even 6 units.   That's an individual discretionary decision.   Just remember, you have increased your potential overall loss to win ratio.   But, you may gain additional comps that meet your individual style of play.   We choose to teach people the "conservative" style of money management.

While there WILL be tables you have selected through the Target 21 scouting methods does NOT play out as they had the "appearance" of being good, but your actual play results does NOT "CONFIRM" the T-21 factors were real.   Yet, there WILL be tables that your selection WILL give you a HOME RUN play.   And, there are tables that can provide winning play through several shoes before it will eventually turn to a "player breaking" table.   Using your stop loss factors, you will NOT give up your captured WIN stacks back to the casino, when this table turns COLD.   You will DEPART with your profits and your COMPS should be forth coming as FREE, "not out of YOUR pocket".   Keep in mind there are far more "loosing" tables than there are winning tables in every casino.

By sticking to Target 21 scouting factors, you will avoid the majority of these "loosing" tables, and will "depart" with your bank roll intact if you are in one.   Also, you will find yourself playing more winning tables than loosing tables.   It requires discipline to avoid playing loosing tables.   We provide the knowledge and insights to know what to do and how to manage money, it's up to the player how they use the knowledge and insights.

At this point, we will give you another "insight" to how many members within our large membership utilize what we refer to as our "TRIPLE THREAT WAR CHEST" to provide us an "advantage" in our casino play.   Many of us posses the knowledge and insights on the very best ways to play, not only Blackjack, but Craps & Roulette as well.   In craps we utilize skilled Dice Control techniques coupled with good betting strategies.   In Roulette we utilize the knowledge of scouting out "dealer signatures" that we are able to exploit and pull profits off these tables.   We love to play all three casino games "that provide winning sessions".   If we were only skilled in ONE of the games the conditions may NOT be favorable at any table in that casino at that time.   By being "skilled" in the "other" games, we have a far wider range to exploit the casino.   Having the skill to play with "confidence" at all three games provides us additional opportunity to earn far more casino comps.

We utilize the very techniques, knowledge and insights, that are provided in our Sailfish products and play each one of these fun casino games with a high degree of self-confidence.

We hope the above info was helpful to your question.
