When the overall distribution of cards is not even, there will be times when basic strategy is not the optimum way to play. In a random situation, there are basic strategy hitting and standing plays where the decision to hit or stand is only slightly better than it's opposite. If we know there is an abnormal distribution of cards (not random), we can use this information to improve on standard basic strategy. For example, if you are tracking tens and are entering an area of the shoe that has a higher-than-normal density of tens, standing on 16 versus a dealer 10 would be better than hitting.  Standing on 12 versus a dealer 2 or 3 would also be better than hitting. If you are in an area of lower-than-normal density of tens, you would be better off hitting a 12 versus dealer 2, 3, or 4.

In our TARGET 21 package we provide five (5) Basic Strategy Cards that allow you to optimize your play during player-biased, dealer-biased, and unknown (neutral) situations. These special cards are for the multiple-deck shoe game. The players are allowed to double on their first two cards and after splitting pairs. Use the player-biased and dealer-biased strategies when you are in obviously strong and predictable player-biased or dealer-biased regions of a shoe. There will be times when you have established a game signature that reveals several player-biased rounds in a row or several dealer-biased rounds in a row, or when you know you are entering a significant clump of player-favorable or dealer-favorable cards. When in doubt, you revert to standard basic strategy. Some plays in the player-biased strategy chart are very aggressive and are not risk averse. Be sure to have an adequate bankroll (at least 200-500 units). This kind of play may also draw unwanted attention to you. It will appear to other players or to the pit to be either very smart or very dumb. If you are uncomfortable about this attention, use standard basic strategy. Any time a player varies from standard basic strategy they draw this kind of attention.
