DICE THROWING POSTURE

QUESTION (Taken from the * PARR list serve, free when you purchase the hands-on training)

I understand that individuals probably have their own style of shooting. I went to the Casino last night and found myself shooting while leaning over half way on the table and standing on my tip toes. I was feeling very comfortable shooting like this. Is this an acceptable shooting posture?

Your normal height and physical build does have a lot to do with how comfortable you are reaching out toward the center of the table, some folks even use objects to stand on.

For me, I'm 5'-11" and have a good reach. I am very comfortable on my toes reaching out to the center of the table.

Another technique that works very well for me from stick right or left is to move into the stick persons space as much as allowed shortening the distance between me and the end of the table..

By toking the dealers the stick person can be coaxed into a cooperative attitude.

We often find that female stick persons are more comfortable allowing you to entire their space. Sometimes the stick person may become protective of their space. Once again, toking can go a long way to making them less protective.

By moving closer to the stick person, you have reduced the distance from your release point to your landing zone, this results in less energy needed to deliver the dice on to your desired targe and they tend to land very softly.

This can often produce more "dead cat bounce" (DCB) landings.

There are times that this posture coupled with the desired results can produces HEAT from the table crew.

To give an example of how stance, posture and landings can bring on more HEAT; during a session this past July at the TAJ with Bucko Bob at stick right and I at Stick Left, (I'm right handed but can shoot well at either stick right or stick left), I was on my second nice money roll and everything feeling very comfortable. I had the dealers in the game by toking and the stick person allowed me to move a considerable distance into his space. I was setting V-3, placing betting the 6 and 8 my point was 5. I hit the hard six the three times in 5 rolls, each time was a nice soft "DCB" landing. I was reaching past the center of the table and it felt like all I had to do was drop the dice with a gentle release.

Well, this was just too much for the Box-man, and he said rather harshly, "Sir your hand must NOT reach past this center point of the table again, or I'll take the dice from you!”

Normally I'm very deep in the zone and casino heat doesn't phase me in the least, I just ignore it and keep doing what's working. This time however, the Box-man was so emphatic, as he reached his hand out waving it up and down on the table right in front of me, saying, "do you see where my hand is, don't go past this point again or your out of here.”

My next roll was a 7 out.

He got to me.

My business partner,Billy "Sailfish" Johnson who was at the table with me then said, “John, it's not his fault, it was your fault", you were on a great roll but, you were NOT deep enough in the Zone to block him out like you normally do.”

He was right.

The moral of this little story is;

when you take a stance and stake out your space and far out into the center of the table when throwing the dice producing DCB's, your likely to win good money, but you are also you likely to bring on some HEAT, mostly from either the Box-man or the Suits. When the dealer's are making "tokes" they normally are pulling for you and won't say anything about your stance and demeanor. But sometimes they do!

My suggestion is to do exactly what makes you the most comfortable and produce winning rolls.

Over time, you will gain a higher degree of self confidence as an experienced Dice Controller. As your level of self confidence increase with dice sets, delivery and posture, you will become more comfortable playing YOUR game, not THEIR game. This will produce increased winning sessions for you. If you feel that the HEAT is getting to you pull down your bets and when you throw the seven, color in and find a more player favorable table either in the same casino or a different one.

Dice Control is all about; winning the casinos money.

Another key point is, the more often you have winning sessions, the more you will be able to recall what you did at that time. Visualize this, get a clear picture of what you intend to do.

Winning visualizations really do help you to subconsciously "zone into" your most comfortable posture one that has produced previous winning sessions for you.

Positive visualizations can become over time, an automatic subconscious trigger each time the dice come to you. Taking your most comfortable stance will become an automatic reflex.

I believe that when your hot your hot, and when your in your in, so go for the money and let the HEAT roll off your back!
