PIGGY-BACK TOKING

Many seasoned and experienced people in the Craps Dice Control Community believe toking the dealers can improve the results of their roll.  Many of them use a toking or tipping technique called Piggy Backing.

The way this works is to place a single unit beside your pass line come out bet, either to the left or the right of your pass line bet.  Then place and equal unit of the same denomination on top of your pass line bet.  This is often a $1 unit size. This is called “capping” your bet.  The dealers will quickly recognize the unit you placed beside your pass line bet as a bet you have made for them.

Frequently, they will acknowledge your toke immediately, or they will nearly always say “thank you sir" at the end of the decision; i.e. a pass line win or loss.  Yes, even if you loose the pass line bet, they will most often say, “thank you for the bet” even though they did NOT collect a toke.

Now, when you “win” the pass line bet, the dealer will pay off the toke bet just in front of it, and pay your pass line bet separately including the single unit “cap” bet you placed on top of your pass line bet, along with any odds payoffs as well.  After the payouts are complete around the table, the dealer will then collect their “two unit toke win” and will say “thank you”.

On your next roll, you will use the “capped” payout win as the dealer toke, and leave the “capped” bet up and working.  With each subsequent pass line win, you are able to use the extra “capped” win for the dealers.  The result is you only use “one” single unit to start the dealer toking sequence, as all subsequent dealer tokes are earned from the capped winnings.  This is called “Peggy Back Toking” as the casino is paying out the rest of the dealer tokes at NO additional cost to you.

Many dice control players know this method will get the dealers “on their side”.  When they get the  dealers into the game, the dealers often become more cooperative and friendly.  Often the stick man will bring the dice back to the shooter with same dice set the shooter was using.  This is very helpful in speeding up the shooters dice sets.

Another example of how toking can become very helpful to Dice Controllers is their table position.  Many dice controllers prefer the position immediately to the right or left of the stick man.  When the stick man knows “he’s in the game” he wants you to make your pass line point so he can collect his toke plus winnings.  He will often move slightly back away from the rail providing the shooter more space to make their delivery.  This can be extremely beneficial to a dice control shooter.

When a shooter is “zoning in” to a real good roll, sometimes they will become more aggressive or generous with their dealer tokes.  They may use the same Piggy Back technique on their “come bets”.  We sometimes may see as many as three (3) to six (6) total Piggy Back tokes working with a nice long roll.  When this occurs the entire dealer shift will most often be “pulling for the shooter” to hit all these numbers.

Some shooters may “double cap” their pass line bet to “fund” their Piggy Back come bets.  By winning double capped pass line bets, there are now using casino winnings for their Piggy Backed come bets.  This method of Piggy Back toking can add a lot of fun to the game for everyone.  And, it can improve or extend a long roll into very nice profits for both players & the dealers.
